I was asked recently what roll all this energy work
plays in daily life. How can we use the principles of
Reiki,
Digi-Ki, or
Tai Chi in our workplace, home life, or relationships? If we are aware
of this Ki energy (Chi, Prana) in our universe, how does that relate to
our everyday existence?
When people are sick they often go to see a doctor
for the appropriate medicine. If they experience emotional or
psychological imbalance they may go to a psychologist or therapist for
advice. For spiritual problems they may turn to their traditional clergy
for help. Recently more and more people have been turning to alternative
or complimentary sources for vibrational medicine or spiritual guidance.
What has changed? Are we still in the old rut of relying on someone else
to take care of us? When the car breaks down, we go to a mechanic to get
it fixed. When our life falls into imbalance we tend to go to someone to
get it fixed, then go back to the same patterns that caused the problem
in the first place. We are only buying more time, and we use the time to
repeat the patterns of energy imbalance.
Billions of dollars are spent each year on Health
Care. Why? Because it is not “Health Care”, it’s “Sick Care”. Why are
HMOs not interested in wellness and alternative / preventative care? A
Sick Care industry requires sick people. We rely on our government to
assure that we have safe food to eat, safe water to drink, and clean air
to breath. Why is there no food to eat, water to drink, and air to
breath that does not slowly kill us? There seems to be such a strong
conflict of interest that a cure for cancer would surely bankrupt the
industry. It doesn’t seem likely, given the incentives that anyone is
really looking to find and eliminate the root cause of cancer either.
Unfortunately the “alternative” approach to health
care is not entirely immune to the pitfalls of this industry. Many
alternative or complimentary practitioners, perhaps unconsciously,
foster a dependence on their services or products. What are we to do?
Let’s get back to the original question. What roll
does this life force energy called Ki play in our daily life? Perhaps we
should each ask, “What roll do I play in my own health care?” The whole
of my life, everything that I am exposed to, everything I do, everything
I feel, and every choice I make is my health care. Maybe “I” should take
responsibility for my health care. But how do I do that?
Everyone experiences times of being out of balance,
from disease, accident, etc. There are health care professionals,
alternative and traditional, that foster self-empowerment as they help
to return you to balance. There are those who will explain your vital
role in breaking the patterns that create imbalance in your life. Seek
practitioners, modalities, friends, and relationships that encourage
self-empowerment not addiction and reliance. There are those who can
help educate us on taking charge of our life and health. As the bumper
sticker says, “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance”.
This Universal Life Force Energy called Ki responds
to our attention, thoughts and feelings. “Hannibal” was one of the
highest grossing movies ever (no pun intended) in it’s first week. What
does that say about attention, thoughts and feelings? What does that use
of our precious energy manifest for us?
Ki energy can be viewed as God’s love moving around
and through us. It maintains our health and happiness when abundant. We
begin to show symptoms when it is lacking or blocked. Knowing how this
energy moves gives us the paddle, rudder, and sail as we float the river
of life. It gives us choice and the freedom and responsibility that come
with choice. The Universe obligingly manifests for us what ever we focus
our attention on, what we love or what we fear.
As we are discovering in the Ki Development/Ki Fingers
Classes (Spiral Community Calendar), our Ki energy constantly recycles
with the Ki of the Universe. It must be extended outward from us for
fresh Ki to come into us. As we strongly extend the loving Ki, no
discord can penetrate. It is contagious to those around us. We have
changed our workplace, our home, and our relationships. |
